Help Us Honor Marcus and Strengthen Our Community: Join the 7th Annual Mission for Marcus Golf Tournament
We are Mark and Teresa Kaplan on behalf of the Delmar Rotary Foundation/ Mission for Marcus Charity Golf Tournament — an event that holds deep personal meaning for our family. Seven years ago, we lost our son, Marcus Kaplan, to an accidental fentanyl overdose. Marcus was a gifted athlete, a 2004 graduate of Bethlehem Central High School, and an alumnus of Western New England College.
Each year, we honor Marcus’s life and legacy through this tournament, supporting programs that bring hope, education, and prevention to young people and families across our community.
About the Event
The 7th Annual Mission for Marcus Golf Tournament will take place on June 29, 2026, at Normanside Country Club in Delmar, NY. This beloved, sell-out event brings together a full field of golfers for an impactful and fun day of golf, a silent auction, prizes, and fellowship — all benefiting a lifesaving cause.
Our Mission
Through Mission for Marcus, we aim to transform how our community understands and responds to Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and mental health challenges by:
- Raising awareness about the ongoing opioid crisis
- Challenging the shame and stigma surrounding addiction and mental health
- Supporting prevention and education initiatives that empower youth to make healthy choices
